Electric Horizons is an American modern rock band emerging from the vibrant music scene of Rochester, NY. Built on years of friendship, musical chemistry, and relentless ambition, the group is carving out a distinct identity defined by powerful rhythms, expressive guitar work, and a vocal style that blends classical training with rock grit. The band, composed of drummer Ray Crane, guitarist Jonathan Dell’Anno, and vocalist Henry Manley, is currently seeking a permanent bassist to complete their lineup.
Origins: A Partnership Forged in Rhythm and Riffs
The core of Electric Horizons began long before the band itself had a name. Drummer Ray Crane and guitarist Jonathan Dell’Anno first crossed paths through Rochester’s local music community when they were only 13 (Crane) and 14 (Dell'Anno). After joining the same band when they were young, they discovered a natural synchronicity—one that audiences and fellow musicians immediately noticed. Their performances were marked by an uncanny ability to read each other’s musical cues, weaving drums and guitar together in ways that felt instinctive rather than rehearsed at such a young age.
People often told them their chemistry was “unmatched." Crane and Dell’Anno shared a desire to explore their own musical direction, free from constraints, and to build a project that truly represented their combined vision.
Eventually, that idea became Electric Horizons.
The Search for the Right Lineup
Forming the band proved to be both an exciting and challenging journey. Despite Crane and Dell’Anno’s strong foundation, finding the right additional members was far more difficult than expected. The search for a bassist led to many temporary players—each bringing their own sound but ultimately not fitting the evolving identity of the band. These lineup changes didn’t just affect live performances; they also complicated the recording process, leading to many songs being reworked or completely re-recorded from the ground up after already spending countless hours.
Amid this ongoing search, the pair reached out to a familiar face: Jonathan’s friend from school, Henry Manley. Although Manley was known primarily for his choir background, his vocal capabilities and expressive tone immediately stood out. His presence was matched by Crane and Dell'Anno's Energy. His shift from classical choral singing to a more rock-focused style introduced a fresh hybrid sound—clean yet powerful, griddy, and unique yet emotionally resonant. It didn’t take long for Crane and Dell’Anno to realize that Manley’s voice was the missing piece they didn’t even know they were looking for.
Crafting the Debut Album
With a vocalist now firmly in place, the trio turned their attention to the ambitious task of shaping their debut album. The project, titled Electric Horizons, has been 1 and a half years in the making—its creation marked by both creative breakthroughs and logistical challenges. Changing band members meant certain tracks had to be rebuilt entirely. Yet Crane and Dell’Anno’s commitment to producing an album that truly represented their vision never wavered.
Throughout the recording process, the band explored a wide range of musical ideas, refusing to limit themselves to a single subgenre or sound. To classic rock styles, funk, folk, Blues rock, etc, their writing reflects everything from hard-hitting classic rock influences to more melodic, atmospheric moments. The result is an album with depth, contrast, and a sense of evolution—one that captures the complexity of the band's journey so far and what they've overcome as such young musicians.
A New Sound on Stage
Though Electric Horizons is still seeking a permanent bassist, they haven't allowed that to slow their momentum. The trio has begun performing live as a three-piece, relying on Crane’s commanding drumming and Dell’Anno’s dynamic guitar presence to create a full, driving sound. Manley’s distinctive vocal tone cuts through the mix, adding emotional weight and texture to their performances. From full rock style performances to potential upcoming acoustic style shows, they can do it all.
This stripped-back lineup has given them a unique presence on stage—not a limitation, but a creative setup that highlights the chemistry that started it all. Audiences have responded with enthusiasm, drawn to the raw, authentic energy of their shows, drawing away from conversation to silence, yet just the band playing.
“The Gold Room” and What Comes Next
In 2025, Electric Horizons released their debut single, “The Gold Room.” The song offers just one stylistic glimpse into the diversity of their upcoming album. It demonstrates their ability to blend memorable melodies, tight instrumentation, and emotional intensity, providing listeners with an enticing introduction to the world they’re building.
Looking ahead, the band has plans for more live performances throughout the coming year as they continue expanding their reach across Rochester and beyond in the summer. Their highly anticipated self-titled debut album, Electric Horizons, is set for release in 2026 and will showcase the full spectrum of styles and ideas they’ve honed over years of persistence.
On the Horizon
Electric Horizons is more than just a band—it’s the culmination of years of dedication, personal growth, and artistic exploration as young artists.
